Tokyo Map & Walks (F) app good for

great real-time mapping that can help you navigate when you cant speak the language. used in conjunction with presselites metro/subway guide and you cant get lost.

When I visited Japan last year this was my primary app along with Ulmon. I found the app invaluable in my sightseeing tours, since I cant afford tour guides. Although, the map needs an update its not very detailed. At times it was very hard to make out where I was in the real world using the map.

Some bad moments

Very limited as you dont have an easy access to the on line map. When you try to find yourself the app has a bug which keeps referring you to a dead end in settings. A cheap although wasteful money. In general looks a good idea but seems to lack of testing on the run. Good for give you attractions but you need to have other means to get you there.

You need data roaming in Tokyo, otherwise you cant use this app, useless! I dont understand why youre writing about offline working of the app! I was last week in Tokyo and had no maps!

I was very disappointed in this app. Just returned from Tokyo, but was unable to get it to work on my 3GS running iOS 4. - Seems to have bug in drawing the maps. When zooming (by pinching) or panning (by swiping), only some blocks of the map would move, and the rest would not be redrawn. - Map info is stored in layers, but they were often out of sync. For example, a tour route might move left & right when swiped, but rest of map does not. - Never once got it to "find me". Very bad, even for free, but for $5? Terrible.

This app is a rip-off. It does not open and is worthless. I reported it to the originators and to I tunes and have heard nothing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Less than 1 star.

Any updates will delete all custom tours. I have an account, but the app failed to backup my created custom-built tours and when the app updates, all data is lost. This prevents me from using the app as as intended. Please Fix!
